Join The New Orleans 2nd Line Parade At The 2021 Telluride Jazz Festival

Everyone is welcome! Colorful floats, costumes, beads and decorations are all encouraged as attendees join in on the march through town.

Second Line Parades are a longstanding New Orleans tradition. Brass bands take to the street, play and march. Onlookers who followed along to enjoy the music were known as the second line.

As a nod to the historic jazz culture of the Crescent City, we’ll be hosting our annual Second Line Parade down Main Street all the way to Telluride Town Park on Sunday, August 15 at noon. Join Bonerama along with The Hooligans Brass Band, the Festival staff, attendees, and festival artists for a celebratory kick-off to the final day of the 2021 Telluride Jazz Festival.

The parade starts at 12 pm from Elks Park (located across from the courthouse on Colorado Avenue).

Bonerama

We know you like it horny and there’s nothing like the full-on, horn powered sound of Bonerama. Their 2019 record on Basin Street Records, “Bonerama Plays Zeppelin” is a wonder for its brassy audacity and sheer power. And like the seminal rock band they honor, the muscular arrangements and nimble execution of the time-tested songs thrill to the marrow. Brass, funk, rock — it’s an intoxicating stew. With three trombones, sousaphone, drums and bass, Bonerama shows are electrifying. They carry New Orleans brass traditions into the bombastic world of rock, and hip-grinding funk excursions make you feel the heat of the Crescent City. As the band says, Bonerama has been changing the way you think about trombone for 20 years!
