Allison Miller and her band, Boom Tic Boom, is a set you do not want to miss. The massively talented drummer, whose style blends free and straight-ahead jazz, keeps busy with not only her own solo work, but has worked with artists like Ani DeFranco and Natalie Merchant, and has toured with Brandi Carlisle. As a woman in a male-dominated field, Allison holds dear the importance of being a role model for female musicians. "One of my dreams is to have a school for young girls. I love teaching and if I can pass on the tradition to young girls, that's more important to me than anything," she told All About Jazz.
