Put that organ front and center, yes please! The very funky, very soulful Colemine Records gives us Parlor Greens, a trio comprised of Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ, Tim Carman (GA-20) on drums, and Jimmy James (True Loves, formerly Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar.

Adam’s work as a top-flight organist on the soul revival scene is legendary. A session man for Daptone from the beginning, he learned from the great Melvin Sparks and from the nearly mystical Dr. Lonnie Smith. With Tim and Jimmy, Parlor Greens’ debut record, In Green / We Dream, exhibits the instant chemistry the trio realized in the recording studio right from the get-go. With a collection of 10, original funk-soul instrumentals, and one particularly delicious cover of George Harrison’s My Sweet Lord, Parlor Green has announced to the world that the soul music scene is as deep and real as it ever was, just fresher and – dare we say? – even funkier.
