When a vocalist cites Marvin Gaye, Al Green and Rance Allen as his top influences, rest assured, you are in the presence of a soul singer. Jamison’s musical journey began in Florida and culminated academically in New Orleans, where he earned his master’s in music at University of New Orleans. From there, he created his own music-focused record label and management company, Affective Music, one that has the “soul” purpose of promoting the genre. His debut album earned a Grammy nomination and he got yet another nomination for a single he produced by Mykal Kilgore.
