What a treat having original Allman Brothers Band drummer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Jaimoe (originally Jai Johanny Johansen), back in the mountains, this time steering his own band playing “improvised, American” music. That’s jazz, folks! In between Allman Brothers Band gigs, Jaimoe got together with guitarist-singer Junior Mack to make some music. Their chemistry was readily apparent and they’ve been performing together ever since. The band is a well-oiled combo featuring David Stoltz on bass, Brian Charette, keyboards, and a ripping horn section consisting of Kris Jensen, sax and Reggie Pittman on trumpet. Their jazz-inflected treatments of Allmans classics, originals, and blues standards will have you swooning.
