The Telluride Society for Jazz (TSJ) is an educational 501 (c)(3) non-profit that serves the community with Jazz performances, music education, community outreach, free programming, and environmental responsibility. Our Jazz music format forms the basis for all of our productions and programs. We produce a three day music event on two outdoor stages and numerous local venues in the summer along with year round programs that keep Jazz alive and support our educational and community outreach objectives. As an educational non-profit Telluride Jazz is dedicated to sharing world-class and emerging Jazz talent with the community by producing numerous programs designed to educate, enlighten, and entertain.
The Telluride Jazz Celebration and its programs represent music education of the highest order as world class jazz musicians bring their talent, skills, and knowledge to our community to share on the Town Park Main Stage, the Raynier Free Stage, Jazz at Night Venues, the Wilkinson Public Library, and the Telluride School District and regional schools. In this spirit we strive to educate and enlighten listeners to find their own appreciation of Jazz, whether it be through informal student question and answer forums with artists, as elite student scholarship recipients, participating in free community outreach performances, attending the Telluride Jazz Celebration as a jazz lover or to learn more about Jazz and the featured musicians.
The Telluride Society for Jazz is dedicated to the preservation, appreciation, and artistry of the American art form – Jazz. By bringing internationally acclaimed artists to Telluride, as well as exciting new talent, we strive to entertain and educate our audiences and students.
