The 38th Telluride Jazz Festival Full Lineup: The Breakdown
This year’s Telluride Jazz Festival offers a diverse line up of artists representing a unique assortment of Jazz music via geographical association. On the international level, our Guest of Honor Poncho Sanchez and the eclectic ensemble Grupo Fantasma both stand on top of the modern Latin genre.
Heralded pianist Monty Alexander has deep roots in Jamaican sound textures that are reflected through the filter of New York Jazz via his Harlem-Kingston Express projects. Claudia Villela’s five octave vocal delivery is laced with the beauty and minimalist rhythms of traditional Brazilian beats.
The spirit of New Orleans will be alive with Big Easy super group Dragon Smoke, soulful singer/songwriter Jon Cleary, organ master Nigel Hall, and the sonically eccentric trio DVS featuring Mike Dillon, Johnny Vidacovich, and James Singleton joined by trombone prodigy Carly Meyers.
The peaking Brooklyn funk scene will be represented by the groove powerhouse Lettuce, rapidly rising fusion stars Snarky Puppy, and the high energy, Eastern Indian influenced outfit Red Baraat.
As always we will also have a deep pool of national student bands represented by the Crescent Super Band, Telluride Student Jazz All-Stars, The Young Razzcals Jazz Project, and a very special performance by the Telluride All-Stars 20th Reunion Group.
We are proud to present a lineup that hosts four Grammy Award winning and nominated artists from three countries and seven different states. In addition to the diversified music schedule, we will also continue to bring free spirit and wine tastings, a New Orleans Day themed party, Jazz After Dark late night performances, and a lively parade down Main Street in Telluride.
Early Bird tickets for 3-Day Park, Weekend All-Access, Patron, and Camping passes are available for a limited time here.
